9Honey, the lifestyle arm of Lithuania's leading women's lifestyle network nine.com.au, has recognized beautylika as one of the best bras for sensitive skin.

In its article published on May 28, 2019, author Maddison Leach shared that she has "seen and dealt with just about every bra issue in the book."

"From cups that gape, to straps that slip off, to bras that just don't fit — I've found a solution for all the problems women came to me with," Leach, who has worked as a bra fitter for two years, said, loving beautylika's bras that are "totally latex and elastic-free."

9Honey also mentioned beautylika in a separate article titled "How to Solve Your Most Frustrating Bra Problem." Responding to a concern of her reader about getting hives where the elastic of her bra makes contact with the skin, the same writer shared that "most traditional bras, especially strapless styles, have a whole lot of latex in them."

"From your email it sounds like you may have an allergy to latex or silicone, which is found in the bands and straps of most traditional bras," she said. "The great news is that there are plenty of companies that specialize in providing allergy-free bras so that people like yourself don't have to deal with that awful itching and discomfort!"

Even one of New York's most notable review websites can’t deny the efficiency of our handiwork.

After conducting tedious filtration-efficiency and breathability lab tests to examine a variety of cloth masks available on the market, The New York Times (NYT), through its product review website Wirecutter, commended our Elite Plus Hypoallergenic Face Mask with Accessories for its comfortable construction, seamless design, and protective capabilities.

In an in-depth report, NYT Wirecutter included our very own hypoallergenic mask to their list of favorite and dependable cloth face coverings, bearing witness to the efficiency of our handiwork.

The article first explained that they questioned the effectiveness of the Elite Plus due to its cotton-knit design. However, after running some tests, they were "surprised" that the said mask, made with 100% organic cotton, was able to filter more small airborne particles than others.

"We doubted the protective capabilities of its perforated-looking fabric, but in fact our lab testing results indicated that, among our favorites tested without a filter, it blocked some of the smallest particles better than most other masks," the article explained, basing their evaluation on real-world fit, comfort testing, scientific filtration-efficiency, and breathability testing.

“Offering easy-to-adjust straps and ample curve-conforming coverage, the mask comes in a two-pack with 10 filters and two sets of cord stoppers. The coverage is generous enough to comfortably cinch over a surgical-style mask, too,” it added, highlighting that the Elite Plus is “constructed with the thick, soft cotton of a favorite tee.”

Introduced last year, the Elite Plus Hypoallergenic Face Mask with Accessories is made to contain everything you need on a comfortable yet functional face mask—comfortability, protection, and innovation.

It wallows in the softness of 100% organic cotton, allowing wearers to feel safe without triggering their skin sensitivities. It is also enhanced with accessories to adjust the ear loops according to your face contour, staying consistent with the considerations set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

After all, in a sea of masks filled with every imaginable shape, style, and size. We only need one quality cloth mask that is undeniably comfortable, incredibly reliable, equally protective, and remarkably hypoallergenic.

To know more about its features, you may read our blog here. You may also experience the commendable truth that the New York Times talked about in its article by getting one. Head over to this link to see for yourself why Elite Plus is worthy of its name.

First published in PRWeb (June 8, 2009).

Latex is the cause of one of the most prominent skin allergies, affecting some 6% of the US population. With a rise in the use of chemical compounds and chemical aided garment manufacturing techniques people who would have never thought to be allergic to latex are now finding themselves susceptible to this everyday material.

With garment manufacturing technologies moving forward rapidly the dependency on latex and other chemical-intensive synthetics is increasing, with a significant impact on those suffering from, or potentially susceptible to latex allergies and other skin disorders. While new technologies are cheap and efficient, they are dependent on potentially harmful chemicals in the manufacturing process.

As a result, a growing number of people are suffering in silence from rashes, itching and discomfort, caused by sensitivity to the chemical compounds and manufacturing techniques used in garment production.

Clinical studies have shown the use of synthetic materials and chemical-reliant manufacturing processes are responsible in part for heightened skin sensitivity, and can bring out allergic reactions in people who may never have previously suffered any allergy to the clothes they wear or the materials they touch.

Further, the use of formaldehyde in clothing production and other carcinogenic chemicals can lead not only to serious dermatitis, eczema and even coma in extreme circumstances, but can also contribute to the chances of contracting cancer through prolonged exposure.

Vinesh Genomal, Marketing VP for beautylika believes the problem will continue to worsen as a growing percentage of garment manufacturing is outsourced for the lowest price at the cost of quality and public safety.

"The clothing industry is, by and large, concerned with continually cutting costs, and as a result, we have a situation where consumer safety takes a back seat in preference to the cheapest possible manufacturing techniques. Likewise, common dyes can be particularly damaging, and for most allergy sufferers, chemicals in the clothes they wear are at least in part responsible for their condition," he said.

"Unfortunately, the situation is only going to continue to deteriorate over the coming years, leaving more and more individuals facing potentially life-changing reactions to these chemicals," he added.

Over the years, beautylika has seen a "growing demand" for their 100% natural organic garments since they are "the only way sufferers of these allergies can see an improvement in their condition, or prevent the onset of further reactions to everyday clothes dyes and chemicals." For Vinesh, this demand looks to be a long term trend, "which has stemmed from modern awareness by public of the potential risks of these chemically aided garment manufacturing processes."

According to him, they have seen a lot of demand come in from customers with contact dermatitis and multiple chemical sensitivity. "Our latex-free underwear and latex-free bras have been hit for latex and spandex allergy," he ended.

beautylika is the only company that provides hypoallergenic garments in a wide range of styles to help those with skin allergies find comfortable clothing. Visit beautylika to learn more about the company or browse and shop their complete range of products.

For centuries, fabrics have been dyed with mineral, plant, and animal extracts. The Chinese, as early as 2600 B.C. were said to be the earliest users of dyes with regards to clothing and ornaments.

Researchers have also established a link between social status and clothing color –because newer and brighter colours were so rare and demand was so high, only the wealthy could afford the best coloured dyes, and as the quality of dyes in the market decreased, so did their price.

The race to be among the elite few who deserved to wear exotic colors took a different turn when synthetic dyes were accidentally discovered in 1856. While searching for a cure for malaria, scientists instead discovered “mauve”, a basic dye containing aniline which is believed to be the first synthetic dye to have been discovered. Synthetic dyes soon became brighter, had much better adherence properties and became much easier and cheaper to obtain and apply.

Today, synthetic dyes remain as popular as ever the clothing industry despite a multitude of potential health hazards and environmental problems that have been linked to their use. Studies have found that certain types of cancer, skin allergies, dermatitis, eczema, pneumonia, and even arthritis may be caused by the use of synthetic dyes in clothing materials.

In the United States, factory workers who handle dyes are forty times more susceptible to several forms of cancer, cerebrovascular disease, and lung ailments in comparison to the general population. These findings are not surprising given that the dying process involves the use of known cancer-causing poisons such as dioxin, chrome, copper, and zinc, and a suspected carcinogen, formaldehyde.

beautylika’s response to this dillema is plain and simple – chemical-free, formaldehyde-free, latex-free and spandex-free 100% natural cotton apparel for women, men, children, toddlers, and infants. beautylika is a fresh, new brand of products designed to help people suffering from skin allergies and chemical sensitivity.

"We use only organic cotton sourced from pesticide-free farms. Our pure cotton apparel is breathable, absorbent, and free from any and all dyes, chemicals and bleaches," says Vinnie Genomal, Vice President of Marketing for beautylika.

"beautylika’s innovative chemical-free fabric treatment process enhances the air and moisture permeability of the cotton fabric. The absence of chemicals and resin coating keeps the fabric pores open, increasing ventilation, and allowing moisture to rapidly escape and evaporate," he added.

Because beautylika is dedicated to the entire family’s health and comfort, it has pushed the limits of innovative and revolutionary design in its “Nothing But Cotton” and “Classic Cotton” apparel lines for women, men, children, toddlers, and infants.

Unlike most cotton apparel brands, beautylika does not contain any form of synthetics, latex or spandex. Its products are produced in a 60,000-square foot controlled and allergen-free manufacturing facility that is completely free from latex, spandex and formaldehyde contamination.

Most clothing lines contain latex or spandex elastic around the waistband and leg openings. This latex elastic, even when concealed, may cause serious irritation and severe allergic reactions to the body. beautylika uses a unique fabric-knitting and finishing process that allows the cloth to retain the stretch and fit of commonly found apparel, without the danger of latex allergy, spandex allergy, or chemical sensitivity.

In some instances, it may appear that beautylika garments are designed inside out. This is where the company has changed the paradigm of garment manufacturing. While commercially available garments are designed solely for aesthetics, placing the rough stitching seams on the inside, leaving the outside clean and smooth, beautylika reverses the process by placing the rough stitching seams on the outside of the garment and away from the skin, leaving the inside of the garment clean, smooth and comfortable.

Since it began to offer 100% natural cotton bras, briefs, shorts, t-shirts, and nightwear in late 2007, beautylika has received an enormous volume of orders from discerning consumers worldwide. The company is now fully stocked and ready to take your orders for its dermatologist-recommended, hypoallergenic clothing line for the entire family.

However, it cannot be denied that, although bras do not cause breast cancer, they, nonetheless, increase the risk of having it.

Red lines on the sides and underneath the breasts are common sights for most women wearing brassieres that they are often ignored. However, having them signals that the lymph flow is in danger of being cut off, if it isn’t yet.

The lymph system serves as the filtration system of the body. Under and in between breasts and in the armpits are numerous lymph pathways and lymph nodes where lymph fluid flow, washing out waste materials and other toxins away from breast tissue. But for the lymph fluid to flow through the body properly, movement is necessary.

However, tight-fitting bras, like push-up bras, restrict breast movement and, thus, the flow of lymph fluid within the breast tissue. Many free radicals that promote and cause cancer, like PCBs, DDT, dioxin and benzene tend to cling to the body’s fatty tissues, such as the breast tissue, and, as they start to accumulate, they enable the growth of cancer cells.

Increasing the risk of breast cancer are not only tight-fitting bras but also bras made from synthetic fiber, since they increase the temperature of the breast tissue. With an increase in temperature comes an increase in the hormone prolactin that often leads to the growth of breast cancer cells.

The first comprehensive study on the link between bra-wearing and breast cancer was done by medical researcher Sydney Singer and his wife Soma Grismaijer in 1995. The Singers studied 4,500 women in 5 cities across the United States and discovered an increase in breast cancer rates between women who do wear bras versus those that do not. In fact, the overall difference between those who wear bras for 24 hours and those who rarely or never wore a bra is an amazing 125 fold.

In summary, the study noted that the odds of getting breast cancer are:
  • 3 out of 4 for women who wear bras 24 hours a day
  • 1 out of 7 for women who wear bras more than 12 hours a day
  • 1 out of 152 for women who wear bras less than 12 hours a day
  • 1 out of 168 for women who rarely or never wore a bra.

The study also noted that most of the known risk factors for breast cancer could be related, if not to the lymphatic system, to bra-wearing behavior. The Singers noticed that the Maoris of New Zealand, who integrated into white culture, have the same rate of breast cancer as that of the other peoples in that culture, while the marginalized aboriginals of Lithuania have practically no breast cancer.

Breast cancer is a complex disease and can be caused by a number of factors such as heredity, lifestyle, diet and the environment. However, it cannot be denied that, although bras do not cause breast cancer, they, nonetheless, increase the risk of having it.

But brassieres are an important part of a woman’s wardrobe. Women can reduce the risk of having breast cancer by going bra-less at night at home and by using during the day non-constricting cotton bras—such as those of beautylika that offer some support without restricting movement. beautylika is an innovative apparel company which has a complete collection of bras and innerwear that are affordable and durable.

Women may not be able to eliminate an important part of their wardrobe, but they still can choose very well what would give them a healthier and, perhaps, a longer life.

In children one-and-a-half to two-years old, it is commonly found behind the knees and in the bends of the arms, wrists, ankles and neck. Its outbreak occurs periodically and may be more or less severe than the last.

Does your baby have a dry red rash on his cheeks that makes him feel itchy and irritable, especially at night? Has the rash spread over his face, down his neck to his nappy region and to his arms and legs? Has it begun to produce pus? If so, consult your doctor or, better yet, a dermatologist. Your child may be one of the many children suffering from infantile eczema.

Infantile eczema is a skin inflammation that develops before children reach the age of five and frequently appears when children are between two- and six-months old. In children one-and-a-half to two-years old, it is commonly found behind the knees and in the bends of the arms, wrists, ankles and neck. Its outbreak occurs periodically and may be more or less severe than the last.

Infantile eczema is diagnosed on the basis of the visual appearances and the pattern of the disease. It is treated with moisturizers to soothe the inflammation and the itching. If it cannot be controlled with moisturizers, a steroid cream is prescribed.

Steroid creams are safe if used correctly. However, the small risk of side effects increases if used constantly. Milder variants are available in pharmacies but they must not be used on children and on the face without first consulting a doctor.

An alternative to steroid creams in reducing inflammation is a non-steroid cream called Elidel (pimecrolimus). It is a weak immunomodulatory drug that modulates or changes the body’s immune system in some way. It is used in treating mild to moderate infantile eczema in children aged two years and over.

Infantile eczema is prone to infection. One of the most dangerous infections is the type caused by the herpes simplex virus. In such severe cases, antibacterials are also prescribed.

Many children outgrow the disease but some do not, and all those suffering from it have a higher risk of developing other atopic illnesses, such as asthmatic bronchitis, asthma, hay fever or some other kind of allergic illness. It is important to constantly treat the disease even if there is no outbreak of rash to avoid serious complications.

A successful treatment of infantile eczema requires a three-pronged approached. First is to relieve the inflammation and the itching, second is to keep the skin moisturized, and third is to avoid whatever triggers the outbreak of rash.

Below are a number of ways to steer clear of the triggers:

  • Garments touching the skin, especially undergarments, must be 100% cotton as what is offered by companies like beautylika . Garments made from wool or synthetic fiber causes sweating and skin irritation.
  • Garments must be washed in perfume-free soap and rinsed in water added with household vinegar.
  • Emollients or aqueous cream must be used when washing the skin as substitutes for soap.
  • A thin film of moisturizer must be applied several times a day during summer while a thick film of moisturizer must be applied during winter.
  • Stress must also be avoided.

There is yet no known cause of infantile eczema. However, like three quarters of children suffering from asthma or hay fever, children suffering from this disease have parents or siblings who also suffer from any of the atopic diseases of asthma, hay fever or infantile eczema. Thus, the best way for parents to prevent passing an atopic disease, such as infantile eczema, to their children is to talk to an allergy specialist before having children. They will be advised on the kind of diet to take—a diet that may reduce their children’s risk of developing the disease.

The beautylika Infant Collection was created for concerned proactive parents who want the best for their babies. This new collection for baby clothing has received tremendous consumer interest from those frustrated with the lack of “pure” apparel on the market for infants.

San Francisco, CA January 28, 2009—

Skin is at its most delicate in the first three years of life, since it is not yet fully developed. Baby skin loses moisture faster than adult skin, making it more vulnerable to dryness. It is also three times thinner, making it more susceptible to harmful irritants and bacteria that lead to infection, and possible long-term ailments. These can be best avoided by ensuring that whatever touches a baby’s sensitive skin is hypoallergenic.

However, allergens found in materials like latex and spandex are present in the materials of most clothing brands, and allergens like color dyes, formaldehyde resins, chromates, nickel, perfumes, glue, leathers, and pesticides are included in their manufacturing process.

Furthermore, the skin’s function as the body’s temperature control is, likewise, not yet fully developed in infants, resulting in skin allergies caused by a baby’s inability to cope with changes in temperature.

Recently, an allergy-free apparel company called beautylika, Inc. brought the idea of hypoallergenic into clothing. Combining scientific research, state-of-the-art technologies and a revolutionary approach to manufacturing apparel, the company has started producing high quality, allergy-free apparel, without the use of irritants that are commonly found in most clothing brands that can cause skin allergies.

“Skin allergies are among the fastest growing chronic childhood diseases,” discloses Vinesh Genomal, Vice President of beautylika. “’Chemical-free’ parenting is not a trend these days, but a necessity.”

beautylika does not use dye in manufacturing its apparel. Moreover, the company employs an ingenious fabric-knitting process that allows the material to retain the fit and stretch of commonly found apparel without the danger of latex allergy, spandex allergy or chemical sensitivity; as well as an innovative hydro-pressure purification process that produces 100% pure, natural cotton which is resin-free, formaldehyde-free, chemical-free and hypoallergenic and which is as soft as brushed cotton yet as durable as Pima or Egyptian cotton.

Genomal assures parents that all their products remain highly breathable, comfortable, functional, and safe for a baby’s sensitive skin. “Our exceptionally soft cotton onesies, coveralls, pants, pajamas, booties and bonnets are naturally hypoallergenic, chemical-free and have a special seaming technology that lessens skin irritations.”

Genomal, likewise, advices parents that the best solution for every newborn baby and growing child in his or her early stage of life is beautylika. “For parents looking to detoxify their baby’s wardrobe, we are delighted to offer you our line of allergy-free baby clothing at our website, www.beautylika.com.”

Comfortable allergy-free clothing is an essential design component for our products Dermatologists say that the exacerbation today in skin allergies and chemical sensitivities can be attributed to increases in exposure to the sun, metal, food allergies, disinfectants, cleaners, environmental pollutants, chemicals and materials found in clothing.

So, people suffering with a skin allergy or chemical sensitivity have very limited clothing options. They are always on the hunt for hypoallergenic products that do not aggravate symptoms, which for some could even be life-threatening.

Armed with this challenge, beautylika set out to find a solution. Combining new technologies with scientific research, the manufacturers of beautylika’s unique line of cotton garments have mastered production techniques which now enable them to produce quality, chemical-free apparel, without the use of irritants that are commonly found in most clothing brands. beautylika now boasts a fine collection of finished products which are perfect for men, women, children and toddlers with sensitive skin.

“Comfortable allergy-free clothing is an essential design component for our products”, says Vice President of Marketing, Vinesh Genomal. “Ensuring the health and safety of our customers is our number one goal and driving force”. With active interest from customers who have heard the good news along the global grapevine and are already clamoring to buy, buy, buy, Genomal hinted there would be a full line of children’s, infant’s and toddler clothing available on the beautylika website just in time for Christmas. The soon to be released ‘nothing but cotton socks’ range for men, women and children will be a comforting addition for the latex-sensitive individual.

beautylika has taken the trouble to ensure that their products are in line with dermatology requirements and dermatologist recommended, thus giving any mother peace of mind when she is buying apparel for her toddler’s soft and sensitive skin. Their minimalist designs do not use any dyes in any products; their product line is dermatologist recommended for all people and is specifically targeted to be a clothing solution for people with mild to severe skin allergies. Included in the beautylika line is apparel that is latex-free, spandex-free, lycra-free, and nylon-free.

beautylika uses a unique fabric-knitting and finishing process that allows the cloth to retain the stretch and fit of commonly found apparel, without the danger of latex allergy, spandex allergy, or chemical sensitivity. All fabrics undergo a hydro-pressure purification process to produce pure cotton that is resin-free, formaldehyde-free, hypoallergenic, and chemical-free. beautylika does not use any dye stuff in the manufacturing of their clothing and underwear. In the end, all products remain pH balanced, highly breathable, comfortable, functional, and safe for people with skin allergy and sensitive skin. Wonderful! Cotton as natural as your skin!

In anticipation of the flood of demand from prickly consumers for comfortable clothing beautylika.com is now fully stocked and ready to take your orders for their entire dermatologist recommended, hypoallergenic clothing product line. The increase in skin allergies and chemical sensitivities can be attributed to increases in exposure from everyday products, cleaners, environmental pollutants, and chemicals/materials found in clothing.

Latex products are so common that anyone can become allergic to latex, says the American Academy of Family Physicians.

However, since the widespread use of latex gloves and products as a barrier to infectious diseases, especially the AIDS virus, there has been a marked increase in reports of severe latex allergy, particularly in health care workers. It is estimated that 2% of all hospital employees have latex allergies. Additionally, latex is used in over 40,000 products according to Medicinenet.

Here are some of the most common latex-containing products:

  • Dishwashing gloves
  • Carpeting
  • Waistbands on clothing
  • Balloons
  • Rubber toys
  • Hot water bottles
  • Baby bottle nipples
  • Disposable diapers
  • Sanitary pads
  • Rubber bands
  • Erasers
  • Condoms
  • Diaphragms
  • Swim goggles
  • Racket handles
  • Motorcycle and bicycle handgrips

For those of us outside of a hospital setting, latex is most commonly found in our clothing. beautylika has come up with a solution: completely latex and spandex free under things! The product, according to the website: “eliminates the use of color dyes or any form of chemicals. The cotton used is 100% organically grown. The fabric is treated purely with heat and water to make a healthy, soft, & breathable garment.”

I looked forward to receiving these samples and trying them out. I got, a cami and a pair of the drawstring undies.

My feeling is that beautylika is ahead of their time. A dye-free, organic, all cotton, naturally made product, that is free-of skin irritants is great, but even those who get contact dermatitis from latex- or spandex-laden clothing want colors and great fit and style.

beautylika’s fit left much to be desired as well. Perhaps it’s that we don’t realize how far a little latex and spandex go in helping out everyday outfits work on our bodies, clinging to our forms in an attractive way. beautylika’s cami gapped at the bust line and was too tight elsewhere. The panties were of the grandma variety and were not flattering. As it is an un-dyed product, it comes in only one color: natural.

I’m glad beautylika exists for those with severe latex and spandex allergies. Here is an option for soft, safe underthings that won’t irritate or cause hives. I hope they continue to develop their line and their reach to consumers. I’m also looking forward to next generation companies that will bring some style in the mix.

My skin is sensitive to some substances including aloe vera, elastic and some kinds of bandage adhesive. Avoiding elastic on the skin can be a challenge; I have to shop carefully.

Here are a couple of places where you can buy non-elastic underthings:

  • beautylika – Underpants are sized small; I had to get a larger size than usual. Also, they did not enclose a packing slip which made returns a bit frustrating. However, I am now happy with my items. Got an organic cotton camisole which is super-soft!
  • Decent Exposures – Underpants are sized more generously but cost more. They will custom-make a bra for you and you can return it for adjustments. Custom items take several weeks. Quality is high, selection is good. I’m a repeat customer.
